The second World Music and Tourism Festival opens in Kinshasa on October 8, bringing together musicians, tourism officials, cultural organizations and creative-industry professionals through October 10. Organized in collaboration with UN Tourism, the festival combines concerts, cultural exhibitions, conferences and discussions on sustainable tourism and the creative economy. Performers include prominent African artists such as Ferré Gola, Werrason, Mbilia Bel and Meiway. Beyond entertainment, the initiative aims to position Congolese musical heritage as a driver of international tourism, cultural exchange and economic development. The event illustrates how countries are increasingly integrating music festivals into broader destination-marketing strategies.
