On October 19, 2026, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization announced the opening of a dedicated international pavilion at the 23rd China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Expo, which began on October 18 in Jingdezhen.
Running through October 22, the exhibition brings together more than 450 exhibitors from 19 countries, alongside over 800 international guests.
The event occupies approximately 140,000 square metres of exhibition space, providing a platform for ceramic manufacturers, artists, designers, technology developers and international business representatives.
A major innovation in the 2026 edition is the introduction of the SCO Window pavilion, organized jointly by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat and the Jingdezhen municipal government.
Dedicated to the organization's 25th anniversary, the pavilion showcases ceramic artworks and traditional craftsmanship from Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Beyond cultural presentations, the exhibition highlights technological developments in ceramic manufacturing, including digital transformation, advanced materials and modern production techniques.
The accompanying business programme includes international discussions and professional networking opportunities, such as the Jingdezhen Forum on dialogue between world heritage and civilizations.
The exhibition also benefits from Jingdezhen's international cultural profile. In July 2026, the city's historic porcelain production sites were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
For event organizers, the expo illustrates how specialized trade exhibitions can evolve into multidisciplinary international platforms by combining commercial activities, cultural diplomacy, technology demonstrations and heritage tourism.
Its integration of traditional craftsmanship with industrial innovation provides a model for exhibitions seeking to attract both professional buyers and broader cultural audiences.
