On October 11, 2026, the 15th edition of the Astana Keshteri International Arts Festival 2026 concludes in Kazakhstan's capital, bringing together international performers, orchestras and audiences for three days of musical performances.
The festival opened on October 9 with South African vocalist Belinda Davids performing a tribute to Whitney Houston, accompanied by the Astana Opera Orchestra. The programme continued with Non-Stop OPERA, featuring nine soloists from opera theatres in Astana, Almaty and Tashkent.
The final evening, titled Barocco, features compositions by Bach, Vivaldi and Handel, performed by the Astana Opera Orchestra under conductor Evgeny Bushkov. International guest performers include French oboist Jérôme Guichard, alongside Kazakhstan's FORTE TRIO and flautist Yerzhan Kushanov.
The anniversary edition highlights how established cultural festivals can combine international artistic collaboration, classical heritage and contemporary concert programming to strengthen a city's cultural identity and attract diverse audiences.
