Australia's Airlie Beach Festival of Music is preparing for its 14th edition, featuring approximately 60 acts across 16 licensed venues in Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays.
The programme runs from Thursday through Monday, with Xavier Rudd headlining the main stage on November 6. Other featured performers include Mark Seymour, The Whitlams, Conrad Sewell and Nathan Cavaleri.
Organizers expect approximately 9,500 attendees. The festival combines a central big-top concert venue with performances at local hospitality establishments, beachside activities and after-parties.
Its Passport to Airlie initiative also provides emerging musicians with opportunities to perform alongside established artists.
For the events industry, the festival demonstrates how a multi-venue model can distribute visitor spending across a destination while strengthening relationships between tourism operators, hospitality businesses and live entertainment promoters.
