On October 11, 2026, the first Sand Art Week 2026 reaches its finale in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, with the inaugural Zobel Prize ceremony at the Ruh Ordo Cultural Center. The five-day festival, which began on October 7, combines artistic performances, exhibitions, workshops and professional networking.
The programme features six creative disciplines, including sand animation, sculpture, painting and monumental beach art. Thirty nominees are competing for six Golden Hourglass awards and a Grand Prix, with international broadcasting planned for the ceremony.
The festival also hosted the first World Congress of Sand Artists on October 10 and an international exhibition connecting artists, equipment manufacturers, tourism businesses and cultural organizations. By combining artistic competitions, professional conferences and destination tourism, the event introduces a distinctive international festival format that could inspire similar multidisciplinary cultural gatherings.
