On November 1, 2026, organizers celebrated the successful conclusion of the Samhuinn Fire Festival 2026 in Edinburgh, Scotland, following its Halloween-night presentation on Calton Hill.

Organized by the Beltane Fire Society, the festival brought together crowds for an outdoor spectacle featuring fire performances, theatrical characters, drumming and Celtic-inspired storytelling.

This year's theme, Walk Beside The Darkness, explored transformation and the courage to embrace change. The performance portrayed the symbolic struggle between the Summer and Winter Kings, with the mythological Cailleach determining the arrival of winter.

For event organizers, Samhuinn demonstrates the continued appeal of immersive cultural storytelling, community-led production and heritage-inspired outdoor festivals. Its combination of mythology, live performance and distinctive urban settings offers an example of experiential event design rooted in local identity.
