On October 31, 2026, Türkiye's Culture and Tourism Minister announced plans to transform Antalya's EXPO grounds into one of the country's largest congress and exhibition centres following the COP31 climate summit in November.
The development aims to attract international conferences, trade exhibitions and corporate events throughout the year, reducing seasonal dependence on leisure tourism.
The announcement coincided with the Antalya Culture Route Festival, featuring more than 440 events across 40 venues.
For event organizers, the initiative demonstrates how major international summits can accelerate permanent venue development and strengthen destination competitiveness.
